Right on Track

Wow, so my show goes up Tuesday, as in five days from now, and I am, for once in my life, right on track!! I can't tell you how surprised I am about this. I don't know about you, but when I have something important to do, I also do a lot of extra things that have nothing to do with what I am supposed to be doing (procrastination, if you will). So, here are some interesting articles and events that have surfaced during my extracurricular activities.

1) Make your own underglaze pencils (from Ceramics Arts Daily)--- I am definitely going to try this when I get set up in my new studio.

Trailers, ceramic pens, and pencils.

Some different slip and underglaze decorating tools.
2) The Utilitarian Clay Symposium at Arrowmont is this September!! I desperately want to go to this! It's focusing on making and marketing your work, something I know I need to learn more about. The presenters are (of many awesome ones) Molly Hatch, Jennifer Allen, Gwendolyn Yoppolo, and Pete Pinnell! If you read this blog often, I know you have seen me talk about all of these people several times!!!! Unfortunately, due to the timing, I think this meeting is a little out of my price range......we'll have to see as it gets closer, I just hope that it doesn't sell out.

A pitcher by Jennifer Allen. I love her work, so much attitude!

I'm taking my final slide pictures tomorrow and Monday so i'm sure there I will be posting lots of images here in the upcoming weeks, but here are some "in progress" shots of pieces I've been finishing up this week.

The one on the left looks a little like Jennifer's right?

I love these little guys, they're perfect for small bouquets on table tops or window sills.

And in closing, my blog turns 1 in May. I can't believe it has been a whole year already!! Thank you to everyone who reads this, all of your responses have been so amazing, I really love hearing what you think!!
